Not Meant to be Political

This is an author site and, as such, isn't meant to be political. Nor is it the place to debate 'all the things' people find to be in disagreement about. With all that being said, there are some topics that I can't believe are topics at all. Like allowing people to live their lives. I've always lived under the idea of 'you be you' and as long as it doesn't actively hurt other people, why on earth would anyone have a problem with that? It may not be my cup of tea, but why do I care if it's yours? I enjoy chai spice tea, for example. I've sampled maple tea and didn't care for it. If you drink maple tea all day long, that doesn't affect me one iota, so why should I be hateful toward you for enjoying maple tea? Worse still, why would I support legislation that illegalizes maple tea and maple tea drinking?

I'm flabbergasted that in 2023 people are still arguing about whether everyone should have the same rights and be treated equally. I've met plenty of people from around the world, some fantastic humans and some I wouldn't trust to take care of my cactus plant (if I had a cactus plant). The color of their skin or their native language in no way gave me insight as to the type of person they were. Why would I take away a chance of discovering an amazing individual by judging someone based on their appearance? Seems awfully silly to me. If this post has pissed anyone off than you may as well not read anything I write. I am not for you. I am an inclusive writer because my current world is full of a variety of wonderful people and I would like my work to reflect that. If that isn't your 'cup of tea', then so be it. If it is, you're cordially invited to come have a cuppa with me.

P.S. When I say 'actively' hurting people, I'm referring to physical or emotional trauma. If there are folks that feel they live their best lives screaming mean and hurtful things to other people, perhaps we can create yelling rooms for them. They can go into a soundproof room, scream at a poster of whatever upsets, and then leave when they are tired. Doesn't hurt anyone else and allows them to deal with whatever their issue is. Because this has been a very serious post, I'd like to leave you with a cute picture. Romulus safety checking my desk.

Keep safe everyone,

Keebs
